Both children of 'childhood electroclinical syndrome' and have very similar definitions.
'childhood absence epilepsy' definition:
A childhood electroclinical syndrome that is characterized by brief and frequent absence seizures in children with age of onset between four and ten years.
'early onset absence epilepsy' definition:
A childhood electroclinical syndrome characterized by the occurrence of typical absence seizures starting between the age of four and ten years.
The source of 'early onset absence epilepsy' appears to suggest an earlier onset as the distinction, which is not reflected in the definition. Still, it's not clear these should be considered distinct diseases. The comment on 'early onset absence epilepsy' may also be relevant.
