I know An Event Apart has always been on my 'career bucket list' of conferences. I don't think SXSW is a good one as I get the impression that most companies see it as much more of a big party and well beyond a web conference, they wouldn't be likely to send employees.

I'm getting ready to go to CSSDevConf mid-Oct. I'll report back on how that one goes.
