Hi!
We have hardware and software products running on Azure IoT-Hub with Azure IoT-Edges in medical environments. These medical environments are highly restrictive and very security sensitive. We use AMQP with the IoT-Hub and IoT-Edge not only because it is a great service bus, but for its acceptance in medical IT infrastructures. However, we also have to enable MQTT in our customer's firewalls just to support ADU, since ADU (although from Microsoft in the IoT-Hub context) does not support the same protocol. This not only raises eye brows, but also makes deployment difficult (lots of explaining and risk asessments) just to enable us to use ADU as part of the Microsoft stack. The bottom line is, we have to explain that this constraint comes from Microsoft, and we cannot do anything about it if we use the stack (ADU...). I think this is both technically and product-wise not a desirable situation. Any thoughts or options? Thanks!
