on_scroll event does not tell the direction of the scroll

The on_scroll event trigger but does not tell the direction (up, down, left, right) of the scroll. The only way to know is to save the previous position and compare with the next position. It does not always work (e.g. Scroll down when at the end)

Should we have some kind of indicator to tell the direction of the scroll?

if we add the info to event, we need to pass horz/vert flag, and delta (count of lines/cols). very hard change.

PROP_SCROLL_xxx_SMOOTH

because I now mark them as deprecated.

It appears that on_scroll trigger also on scrollbar click, minimap click, go to line command,... So, knowing the direction in such cases would be infeasible.

Do we have the on_mouse_scroll event which only triggers on mouse scroll. This way, knowing the direction of the mouse scroll is much more straightforward.

why it's hard to remember all values of ed.get_prop(PROP_SCROLL_xxx_INFO, '') and compare each value to the previous one? so plugin can know how scroll worked.
